GENTLE STRANGER INSECTS IN THE SUGAR WATER TIMIDLY RUPTURE OUR FAVOURITE GULLETS (JENNIFER WALTON REMIX)

Experimental Moshi Moshi offshoot PRAH Recordings released artsy London outfit Gentle Stranger's bold and uncompromising debut Love and Unlearn back in March. Back with an entire remix album, which features exciting reimaginings by many of the bands friends and contemporaries as well as a few artists admired, but not personally known by the band yet, we're focussing on Jennifer Walton's banging remix of 'Insects In The Sugar Water Timidly Rupture Our Favourite Gullets'. Breathing new life into the track with a harsh industrial stomp, Walton places the bands' unhinged vocals front and centre. Doused in a distinctively dystopian air, Walton elaborates: "We all know what's coming. one day the cruel radiation machine will lock onto a baddie, then fire a deadly beam. right in your beak. your fucking beak. taste it and keep going.” Launching alongside an equally dark, and somewhat frightening, kaleidoscope-inspired video directed by Frankie Roberts, Loved and Unlearnt is out now. -Holly Mullineaux
